Don't know if it's been mentioned on here yet, but Harris Angling was sold to Masterline a couple of months back.

The same people are running it, but a quick look on the Harris board shows that Chris and Sue are moving to Belize next year and organising trips out there.

I've spoken to Sue a few times over the years, first as a customer and then via Anglers' Net - a truly charming woman, with a business brain to match.

I sincerely wish them luck 'living the dream' in Belize - they've worked hard and deserve this chance.

Elton

i've used harris since the change and the service is as good as ever, and they have some interesting masterline related bits on the halfprice section. as elton says, good luck to chris and sue, they've worked hard enough to have a little time off now!

I agree, Chris and Sue are a very nice couple, not to mention shrewd. They saw a gap in the market and worked hard to get where they are. Best of luck to you both!

I second the above. But as a rider to the half price offers. Half price or right price? 50% off means the product was overpriced in the first place. You can bet that at half price the sale remains profitable. The Harris's brought us lures beyond our wildest expections, they also brought us high prices. Free postage, or loaded prices? Others saw what the Harris's charged, and charged accordingly. Sue and Chris are good people, they deserve what they achieved. They showed that lure fishing could be profitable, and so the choice grew as others latched onto lures. And for that we must be grateful. But should we be grateful for the high price side of the equation? Maybe, for without high prices the industry wouldn't have grown. My feeling is that the Harris's are behind the explosian in lure fishing, and all credit and more to them for that. But there is a legacy of inflated prices. You decide!

i've never bought anything from harris that wasnt in the half price section, some things were true bargains, big rapalas etc, others were as peter says, simply the right price for the lure.....

I go to Holland now and again. Maybe I just go to the right shop, but Rapallas over there are, or were, a third of the UK price! So that would still be less that half UK price!
