Pop into the Environment Agency HQ in Reading (address in the phone book)and get a copy of their Thames Valley angling handbook (ITS FREE) Should find all sorts of bream waters in and around Reading. The Thames is not exactly short of a bream or two.

Not sure if you can or if its safe todo so fish the thames over night. Pile a good load of bait in and the bream should arrive at some time during the night.

Could try ringing one of the local tackle shops for advice - like Thames Valley Angling. (Tel 01189 428 249). On the RDAA ticket Farnham Flint Pit is a good Bream water and Englefield Lagoon once produced the British Record. Most beats of the lower Kennet regularly turn up Bream and as has already been mentioned the Thames is stuffed with em!

Theale Lagoon ( the massive one by the motorway where it crosses the Kennet) used to be a great Bream Water. Caught many from the motorway bank. Not sure who has the fishing now but worth finding out. The Other Place with an excelent head of good bream is the Thames at Child Beal just above Pangborne. Day tickets available for the river and managed lake fishing.
This place has thrown up many weights over the years and the fact that it is now a managed fishery meens some usefull advice will be available. Good Luck |
