I wonder how many of those were kids that they won't prosecute though.

OK I'm being smug, but I always have an EA license. A mate of mine, now departed for Queensland, never bought one. May be it's just me but I would not want to spend each day by the water looking out for a bailif. Rather concentrate on my float, quiver etc etc.

Yeah, it'd be interesting to find out how much money they claw back off of the 1000 caught.

As I said a good percentage of them will be kids that are probably unaware of the season anyway who'll get warnings.

I saw lots of kids fishing a cut over the BH but didn't bother to kick them off(although it's wrong), as I think they're better off doing that than being dragged to the pub by thier parents.

Plus they probably won't catch anything anyway.

I thought that most of the the cuts were open all year round anyway, they certainly are in my area, and fishing great at the moment.

I've had mine checked once in the last fifteen years, and that was at a Grafham Water event. If one was cynical it might occur to them that it's barely expedient for an individual to buy one at all, as a first time fine, assuming you are ever caught, usually doesn't amount to much more than twenty or thirty quid. pumpkin

I believe considerably less people would fall foul of a rod licence infringement if their sale were returned to the tackle shops as well as the post offices.

'i havent got one'

Because you have two, right Chesters?
