Looking at the map you are best heading for Gainsborough then after Hemswell take a left onto the A15, head up the A15 then it should be your seventh turn off on your right(if you get to the roundabout you have gone too far) after turning right carry on until you get to a junction then turn left, you are in Hibaldstow now and should be looking for church street or church lane which will be the turning on your right afore you get to the pub on the corner.
Once you have turned right you will see a paper shop on your right, carry on past the church and the road will eventually narrow .
The pond is about 1 or 2 miles down this road on your left hand side.
Its a general coarse fishing water with some good carp in that patrole round the island, as do the chub.
You can take your car to your peg and the deepest bit is the furthest away from the bungalow.
There are toilets available.
Ive not fished it since March so i dont know how its fishing alately.
See may 2002 issue of imrove your course fishing page 138.

Nurse,
Its quicker to go straight down the M180 and take the turn off after the one you would take for Scunny and Messingham sands (signed Brigg). Hiblestow is only a couple of miles from the motorway.

Messingham has been fishing the same as most holes in the ground overfilled with fish, easy and not my cup of tea really but I do admit to the occasional dangle in moments of weakness.

DO NOT go to messingham theyre having major problems with the lake. The water is black with fish all gasping for air. Went yesterday, Saw this went for breakfast and decided to go to Hayfield.
@ messingham it looks that bad that i think it will take a few year to fully recover.

Candy Corner is extremely well managed (by Dave Faulkner) - get him talking about his love of marginal plants and you'll see what I mean.

The other nearby choice would be Bankend Fisheries. This lies alongside the B1396 road just to the east of the roundabout at Blaxton, where it crosses the A614. Andrew McCallum's farm shop - with real home-grown produce (from the fields opposite)- lies next to the pair of excellent stillwaters.

Neither venue includes typical 'mud hole' carp ponds, nor are they maintained by constant restocking of cheap, nasty fish. I put it down to the quality of fisheries management advice they received ... and continue to receive
