I am looking for some good Chub fishing on the Gt.Ouse 5 to 10 miles each side of Bedford town. Free would be best as I have tired must of the club waters and all I have found are egocentric Barbel anglers with no ethic.

Have you had a look at the Kempston stretch of the Ouse?

Part of the river is (or was) free to fish, the rest is controlled by Vauxhall on one side of the river and Kempston on the other.

I used to fish there many years ago when I was a teenager (Im 25 now) and saw many good sized chub.

Pay a visit to Bleak Hall fishing takle shop, they will advise you more accuratley about where you can fish for free etc etc.
