No change for us 'mature' chappies. There was a change for the 'disabled', you now need a blue 'disabled' badge to qualify for the disabled concession.

Not quite true, using the blue badge scheme [if you have one] just makes it easier to get the concession. Have a read here.

Saw a guy in Tesco's car park with a 'Blue Badge' displayed in his car, the speed at which he ran he could have given Lynford Christie a run for his money. These are the people who can now qualify for a concessionary rod licence; whilst the poor people such as those with a mental handicap or other similar disability will have to pay for the full licence. Really well thought out!!!
Well done Dafydd and the BDAA, you all deserve a slap on the back!!

I 'm not defending the way that any of the 'badge' schemes are/were operated, since at Local Authority level they were sometimes handed out by Social Services like sweeties, without any real control. I do remember that badge holders can be drivers of disabled people ie you dont need to have a disability to have a badge. It is however an offence to abuse the priviledge. Its a few years since I was involved with the scheme so the rules might have changed.

Dear Wearyone,

Was the blue badge holder running away cos you are 19stone? I wouldn't. Run away that is. Even if you had Peter behind you!!!

Regards,

Lee.
