I have just been reading the angling times and i seen an advert for "massive discount tackle show".They are claiming to be selling loads of massivly discounted tackle.
Has anyone been to one of these or anything similar and, will it be worth a 2hr drive to get some cheap tackle.
It is in Newark and trent

Check out how much the entrance fee is!

I have only been to one, very local to me.
Entrance fee was £5.00.
A lot of old model or "cheap no-brand" rods, reels etc.

I bought some cheap groundbait,a couple of packets of hooks I didn,t really want, and that was it.

IMO a waste of £5.00.
I won,t get caught again.

Think of it this way Paul.

Would you pay to get in to Tescos to do your weekly shop.

I think not,so how the hell do they justify to charge you an admission fee to pay for the hall which THEY are using to sell you stuff and make a tidy profit.

Another example of this is computer fairs.

John.

Hi ya Paul. These discount sales are ok but very little bargains they go v. fast but pleanty off cheap kit n stuff. The door fee is £4.00 I think which is a rip off if you just buy bits plus the cost of fuel and time traveling. Not trying to put you off but you will have spent about £15.00 without buying owt is it worth it, unless you fancy a day out. I'm going but but its only 45 mins from me.( I've been before and it wasn't that bad).

i complained when i wasted £2 in a computer
"fair" there were only 4 stalls selling tat,but what can you get for £2 10 fags etc,the worst thing i have found is a carboot sale at ripley who charge 50p to get OUT ,there is a very small sign telling you this
AFTER you have got onto the farm and as its a duall carriageway your trapped and there is only one way out.!!

I've heard of people getting there entrance money back by nicking a few bits but I would never agree to such an unforgivable thing.
