After the success with the tench last Sunday, and with a trip on Thursday replaced with a last-minute boat trip, I was really excited when I got up at 3:30am yesterday to go back to 'my' swim.
I knocked on Nic's door and was about to leave without him, when he answered. He was a bit worse for wear, but equally as keen to get stuck in. So, we arrived at about 4:15am....only to find a notice on the gate 'ALL PEGS RESERVED - MATCH', or words to that effect. I was GUTTED! We then decided to shoot across to another venue. not as nice, but it does hold some large fish. When we got there, it was bivvy city. We dug our membership books out and had a look at the match calendar.... Not only was there the match at the first lake that I mentioned, but an all-weekend carp match on the second one :mad: We ended up coming home, swapping the gear over and heading down to a saltwater river for some bassing. And we blanked. Yesterday was not a good day

Sorry, but that pretty much sums that club up. At least the Tench ain't getting hammered & lets face it, sunday wasn't good weather for them.
