Just drawing your attention to the letter in this weeks Anglers mail letters page. Chap there sums up my feelings on the subject perfectly and is along the lines of what i posted here on AN. (Shold have sent it off as he got a prize of a baitrunner) .

Have just seen it. Rather gave the game away when Mr Donnachie refered to 'a few dozen horse riding landowners.' It isn't a 'them and us', or a 'have or have not' issue, it is purely a question of out and out cruelty and what is considered acceptable behaviour with regard to an animal in a civilised society.

Otherwise I thought the letter was relevant. As for the picture of Jardine, thought it made him look a trifle odd! Personally I thought he made an absolute fool of himself with his letter to the press claiming that it was the CA that had got the government to relax the rules on cormorant shooting.
