I'll give you Brits the abbreviated version of the month of June.
Often, I have espoused tooting my own horn - "fisherman par excellance", "skilled angler" etc. etc. Appearantly in June 2002 no one told the fish of my reputation, they humbled me.
June, 3300 car miles, an estimated 500+ hours angling and I refuse to say how much I spent in dollars equaled 4 carp (two doubles). It was just one of those, "you should have been here yesterday" kinda months.
I was out angled by every creature on earth that ever considered fishing.
In reviewing June, I am trying to determine what sort of idiot would subject itself to such punishment.
All in all I had a good time and have added a plethora of new excusses to my reprator. Yes, I'll no doubt do it again. Miss spelling is intentional, I'm on a roll.

Er..were you trolling from the car?

I usually manage to catch nothing without hardly travelling at all, which must mean I'm doing something right... biggrin.gif

Ohh yeah! step right on the forlorn Yank while he is completly humbled and humilated. Is there no dignity on that side of the pond? Drove nights, fished days (3 - 4 hour sessions). Even the US carp anglers in Carp Anglers Group(CAG) avoided me after the first 10 days. Caught plenty of nuisance fish (perch, catfish, trout, striped bass, etc) but struck a serious empty space among my favorite, the carp

PS I did catch my rod and reel PB eel. Four pounds (est). It is the first eel I have ever recorded with admiration as a fish caught. Usually we ignore eels and must confess, this forum has given me considerable more respect for the creature. I did however graciously give it my hook and about three inches of leader. It was hooked quite deeply and I thought its best chance was to disolve the hook. (?) Caught in the Delaware River near Camden New Jersey on a nightcrawler (lobworm).
I have now paid my dues, carp should begin jumping onto the bank for me!!!!

Perhaps Phone you should give up on carp & fish for something with teeth!
