Hi all ... Recently returned to fishing since moving to relatively new area. Local lakes are Weybread Gravel Pits outside small town called Harleston between Diss & Norwich. Anyone local who wants some company. I'm a 32 year old pleasure angler during winter months but enjoy those summer nights carping. Have own gear and transport

Have a look here

You are in a great spot.
Go to your local bookshop and buy the latest " John Wilsons guide to fishing in Norfolk and suffolk"

The Waveney is a great river.
There is free fishing through Beccles.
If you go down the main road to Beccles, just after you go over the main bypass bridge there are laybyes on each side of the road.
Park here and it is all free fishing.
One of the best broadlands spots in the winter.
Fish the quay between the bridge and the cut or the cut itself if possible.
There are all species all winter long.
Get there early as it gets busy.
At weekends you cant fish the cut due to matches but can fish the main river.
Feeder, pole, waggler, stick or Pike tactics all work as it averages 8 foot deep depending on the tide (tidal).
Ring angling direct Beccles and ask for Ian 01502 713566, he is a top bloke and will tell you all you need to know.
Downstream of the bridge is DEEP.
Feeder fishing here.
I have had 20lb+ mixed bags of Bream, skimmers, hybrids, roach, perch and gudgeon on days when the locals said fishing was poor!!!!!!!!!!!

Just watch out for the pike as they attack anything that moves when they are there.
