most of you know that anthony has his own stretch of the coventry canal near lichfield, well how about an inter site challenge between anglers-net and anglers-website which is a newish site that a few a-n members including my self help run.
i have permission from anthony to go ahead with this.any one interested in a day out on the cut.
nothing serious you don`t have be a top match man or anything stupid like that and thats why ferret can come if he likes! biggrin.gif
anyway how about i don`t know maybe a 6-8 a side match. and as most of a-w members are also a-n members it will be a real local derby!
oh and by the way a certain nursey women will be fishing as are captain (mind you she doesn`t know it yet! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif ) how about it then? anyone up for it?
if yes we will have to decide upon a date to suit all.
you lot up for it then or are ya scared of us! biggrin.gif

As much as I'd love too, Multimap show that as being 160 miles away for me, just a teeny bit too far for a day trip I think!

Where is the canal?

I am in the north of yorkshire, I wouldn't mind a bit of fishing and a bit of a laugh.

Chesters --- if you were born before some date around the end of 1929 you can get a FREE passport now ___ something to do with the hardships that we war-time school children endured ! ! tongue.gif rolleyes.gif

Although I now live in Norfolk we regularly 'pop over' to Derbyshire to have the grand daughter for the weekend, she lives in Belper with mum and dad (obviously). I learned to fish in the Trent and Mersey at Swarkestone and it must be well over 30 years since I had a dangle in a canal. Depending on the date I would love to join in. Lichfield is only 30-40 minutes from Derby so a coincidental visit to Belper one Sunday would make it possible assuming we are talking weekend. I would warn the team captain however, I enjoy my fishing so much I am never really bothered if I don't catch!!! Anthony's stretch looks absolutely wonderful and a season ticket could be worth it for just a few trips a year, let us know if you propose to make fishing available Anthony.
