Over the Christmas holiday period I went on six full day fishing trips, almost froze to death, broke a decent rod and caught nothing. I reached that point where I was thinking.... NEVER again!
Then on Sunday, my wife pointed out a pack of frozen smelt in the freezer, so I gave myself an hour, at dusk, on Sunday to use them up. The result was two pike: nothing big, but enough to rediscover the enthusiasm!

Argyll's doubles are still doing the business!

Welcome back, most of us had missed you. Argyll's doubles, two ounce smelts?

You're confusing me now: I mean the fantastic double hooks, back to back, one small barbed and one large barbless, that I've been using to mount the baits. These were sent by Argyll, as an improvement on the 2/0 single hooks I had been using. They really work too!
Back to Chesters... yes, I don't deny that the jack must have been a hungry beggar, but he did a nice little tail-walk, so deserved a moment of fame on the messageboard! I could have used him as a livebait but it was getting too dark... Any fish is better than returning home empty handed, having braved weather that would freeze the nuts off a brass monkey!

Sorry Pangolin, I meant 'the two treble police' will have you. It was a joke smile.gif
I'm more interested in the fact that you're still using the same titanium trace that I sent. Yes?
Any sign of damage?
