I use plastic rainwater pipe just tape one end up

Can't understand a shop not selling 'em. Most rod holdalls are made to hold rods in tubes. Tackle Direct sells them.

Glasgow Angling Centre and Anglers Rendezvous in Glasgow sell the black rod tubes with the red caps on the end.

Yep get down to your local buiding material center and buy a drain pipe or two.

Don't leave them in a car in the sun on a very, hot summers day, they'll warp and not do the contents any good.
