Not stricting fishing per se, but...
I've just noticed that my biggest pond fish has a totally messed up eye. It looks like some kind of fungal growth. Is there anything I can do for the fish (even some Klinik, maybe?) and is there anything I can do for the pond itself? Serious answers, please. I'm really concerned about this. A temporary fix might be to bath the fish in a salty bath but be very carful if its to strong you might kill it DON'T LEAVE IT ALONE.
I haven't got my books on me so I can't give specific advice Personally I'd go to your local aquarium/pond shop and get some anti fungal treatment for the fish and the pond. If its an expensive koi you might consider calling a fish vet (they do exist). Basically the infection will be an opportunistic infection following a previous injury of infection. So make sure it is just an accidental injury and not a more obvious symptom of a more serious water or parasite problem Ok have got some links... here here here Hope this helps drop me a mail if you need anything else Richard [ 13 April 2002, 02:37 PM: Message edited by: Richard Capper ] |

and fit (if its a large pond) uv filters ,these do kill about everything ,provided you have a little more uv than needed (the tubes dont provide the neccessary output as stated WHEN NEW as they age) perhapps if its a large fish then cotton wool dipped in saline would be safer than a complete dip ,as stated the fish vets are a thought but be prepared for a large bill . hope freddy gets better
p.s if you use carbon as a filter medium ,change it often its been found that it stores? the polutants (as it should) but does start realeasing it when exhausted. -------------------- |
