How tidy do you store your gear?
I keep mine in the bedroom where I sleep in. I have one corner with about a dozen rods ready made up ready to go fishing whenever I want to. In another corner I have shevling for tackle boxes and bit and pieces for making up rigs and sorting out and cleaning stuff. One chests of drawers, and set of three cupboards. These contain electrical items, First aid stuff, and bait-making stuff. My mother think I am obsessive with it, but I disagree! Everything has to have a place, I can therefore see what I need and don't have to go hunting for it! Mind you, if I'm honest its not always this tidy - especially hen I've just returned from a session, but its ends up being so. How tidy do you keep your gear then? And what lengths do you go to to keep it that way? -------------------- Growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional

Mine used to be all over the house, mostly in the hall where I could get at it quickly on the way out. I've now got a large chest of drawers to hold everything except the rods.
This is it. 4ft x 3ftx 2ft ![]() [ 26. July 2005, 01:00 PM: Message edited by: argyll ] -------------------- 'I've got a mind like a steel wassitsname'

QUOTE argyll: If only..... I've now got a large chest of drawers to hold everything except the rods. TWO chests of drawers, a built-in cupboard, my desk-top, back of the car, top bunk of the campervan, garage, under the stairs, my brother-in-law's shed in Tasmania - and thats only the stuff that I know where to lay my hands on it demon Thank goodness I don't do session carp fishing -------------------- Vagabond.

I've got a SHED. 75% is for my fishing gear - I keep it tidy so I am ready to go in 10mins! (not bad for a disabled lad hey!!)

About 12 made up rods/reels in a rack on the other side of the hall. Those are the rods I reckon I'll need for the usual stuff-lures, flies, avon, float rod and a whip for livebait. The rest (about 20 freshwater, sea, big game and old cane rods) that I never use, are down the sides of the wardrobes in all of the bedrooms. Luggage is in the cupboard under the stairs. My collection of vintage baitcasters have pride of place on the mantelpiece in the sitting room and my fly tying gear is filed in an office cabinet (in the office)
All right I lied the fishing cabinet only has the day-to-day stuff. But at least its now organised and I know roughly where everything is. [ 25. July 2005, 10:33 PM: Message edited by: argyll ] -------------------- 'I've got a mind like a steel wassitsname'

This is just a fraction of my kit in the out house.
Got some in my study, some in my caravan and a load in the car. I'm not tidy but I know where most of the stuff is to hand.

I like to pretend i am tidy but i have gear every where in the house, i have a double wardrobe in my out house that has general course gear in, i have taken over what used to be a cellar with all of my piking gear, i have got great plans for the cellar ie rods on walls and loads of shelves but time spent sorting is time not fishing.
