For lure fishing with weights from about 5gms upwards, provided that the rod is suitable, I think that there is no more pleasurable reel to use than a multiplier. Line twist is not an issue with a multiplier. They are small and compact compared with a fixed spool in the bigger sizes. Playing a fish is supremely easy with a multiplier. Cast control is, I think, easier with a multiplier. A multiplier is virtually a must when jerk baiting. As a boat reel for piking a multiplier wins hands down. No bulk, less likely to snarl up on other gear in the close confines of a boat. I think it was John 'Watto' Watson who said a multiplier was made for boat fishing.

Thanks Budgie! I suppose, when it comes to control, a multiplier is like a good woman, under a man's thumb biggrin.gif !
