Try grilling the crumb on a high heat for five minutes, that should do it.

The simplest way to make it blacker and dirt cheap is to use dirt.
Mole hill soil to be exact, its very fine and also takes the groundbait down quickly. Ian Heaps is a big advocate of this I've tried it and it works just fine. Just be careful where you source it though, don't go sneaking around your neighbours lawn in the dead of night with a bucket they might not believe your explanation. -------------------- Our perception of time as an orderly sequence of regular ticks and tocks has no relevance here in the alternative dimension that is fishing....... Without a word of a lie, just three hours ago I was scooping up mole hill soil, I put in on the rose borders, what a waste.

What's wrong with black food colouring?

What I meant to ask was a non cruel way, like hurt their feelings or something, anyone got any ideas how smoke bombs work?? Where can I buy them, do carp anglers use them? Is this angling related? It all started with bread crumbs.
