'The Gold Fish Bowl', Clifton, nr Deddington is a great little water with a fish-a-minute.

Clifton is a very small village between Aynho and Deddington on the B4031. Just turn off the main road into a close then take the next left, follow the road round, you can't miss it.(see map below)

Unfortunately I don't have a contact name or number.

Just turn up, get set up, fish and the guy will walk round and collect your money. (£5 for 2 rods)

Keep it simple. Use hooks of around 16, 14, etc, with either float fished sweetcorn, or for just the carp, Lunchoen Meat.

Carp in there run up to about 13lbs, which are rarely seen. Most of the carp are between 1-4lbs.

Two friends of mine fished there a few weeks ago. One of them had 24 carp and the other had 20 carp in 3 hours!!

I haven't fished there for ages, but I know it's good sport.

Another fishery, which isn't far away is Pimlico Farm, nr Croughton.
3 lakes, one a garden lake (lovely little lake), the middle lake is good and well sheltered and then the top lake with big roach and carp (to 22lb).

Pimlico is one of my favourite short session venues. I start on the top lake and end up stalking on the garden lake.

Trout pellets as well as sweetcorn and maggots do well. For the bigger carp then use boilies or very large trout pellets.

£5 for two rods, park in the courtyard or round the back - pay in the stables - (follow sign posts), put dosh in an envelope then get fishing.

Great fishing in the summer 'off the top' with mixers, very early in the morning on the top lake.

13-15lb carp can be seen cruising in the garden lake. Great for stalking and they put up a hell of a fight. (see my 'Stalking Carp' article on AnglersNet - Pimlico)

Billy Evans place over near Launton, nr Bicester is another good water.
£5 for two rods, pay at the hut.

Hope that helps.
