Hi... as a bass fisher, I'm looking for a good quality, value for money multiplier for plugging/spinning from shore... and my saltwater friends suggested I post here to see if any of you guys could assist. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Saltwater is of course a factor in my choie... thanks in advance...

ABU 5501 C3 assuming that you want left hand wind.
ABU 6501 C3 is bigger but unless you're intending on tropical use with big lures for big fish with big teeth, they are probably a shade bigger (and heavier) than required. For bassing and bass size lures the 5501C would probably be more suitable. http://www.snowlines.co.uk usually have either for around 60 quid. USA cheaper but occasionally complicated and if you get stuck with Duty/VAT not that much cheaper. Ebay 35-ish.

It's hard to beat the Shimano Calcutta's.
That said, using a multipier, I'd find it hard to get near the to the range that can be achieved with a fixed spool setup - especially casting into the wind.
