My carp fishing from yesterday.

I arrived at the secret pool to find somebody else already there just before dawn was braking. Me and my fishing partner Alec already decided to fish a new area of the pool, but I weren't too keen in fishing in this small bay and my chosen peg was a little too steep to get down to the water edge.

My chosen fishing peg/area

My plan was to used two rods with the Anchor bait delivery system (inline version) and E.s.p. perforated pva bags with bloodworm micro pellets with broken boilies and a single boilie hookbait and one rod with a simple inline lead with a single boilie hookbait, with loads of free offerings though out the day.

My bait area was to go along the edges of the branches.

The left rod with a Pva bag/pellets and boilie hookbait. The middle rod a single boilie hookbait and the third rod(right) was again the pva bag system.

My mate Alec was of the mark in his chosen peg and within minutes of casting he landed the heaviest fish of the day. A nice mirror carp at 13lb 3ozs

As I was taking that picture my No.3 rod was already in as this results a small chunky mirror carp and this carp wouldn't hold still for the picture

But manged to get too the grip of it!

Anyway for some reason Alec swim went dead for a long while. For me I was in all the action from after having the first fish.

After that fish went quite for a while and then I decided to more some more baits out there and just sat down the middle rod went off again but this felt a right heavy lump and I did played it for a while but lost the fish as it threw the hook near the snags which was on the left of me. Could it been a new personal best for me? I don't know and I will never know!

Mostly through out the afternoon I did change tactic for me and Alec rig and put some more baits in for him and guess what? Alec was in again!

Me in again!

My final total catch was 12 Mirror Carp the biggest at 12lb 13ozs and Alec had 3 Mirror carp.

This is the best day I had on this secret pool this year. Already planning to go again next weekend!

Nice fish and report, Andrew.

Can we have the West Midlands fish-in there next year, please .

Hmmmm, come to think of it that a nice idea but I have to say NO

I would like to do it as a fish-in but don't think the owners will not approve of the idea.
