Which stretch of the Ribble controlled by Warrington anglers has the best parking? Been to have a look at Hurst green and its a bit of a hike coming back up the hill to the car park!!
Any suggestions.

At Balderstone the car park is close to the river but if your looking for the deeper swims then its a bit of a walk upstream but its across flat feilds so its not to bad. When you park at balderstone you have to leave the farmer £1 in the box for the use of the car park.
I belive there is 2 car parks for hurst green one which is closer to the river but again you have to pay the farmer £2 per person and the second which is free but i belive its a longer walk.

Cheers Paul!!
Went to have a look at Hurst Green last Sunday, there is a car park nearer the river but you walk down a hill - its the walk back up it thats a bit of a hike! How far is the car park from the river at Balderstone? And thanks again for your reply

as you aproach the car park there are two ways you can go. If you stand facing the farm to your left the river is only about 60-70 yards this is where the stretch ends and tends to be shallow, you can see the bottom all the way across in summer. If you go right from the car park then left following the electrical pylons this is where the deeper swims start and the walk is about 250 yards, once at the river where the wooden pylons cross it if you go upstream there are some deep holes on the far bank and the start of the stretch is about 3/4 mile upstream of the car park, its a long walk but its usually worth it.
I have only ever fished the upstream end of the river so cant say what the shallow end is like.
here is a map to give you a rough idea
