U may have seen my other post about Gran Canaria, hence this post was just thinking of my last holiday.

I had booked a family holiday to the Norfolk Broads on a cruiser, we planned to do a bit of Piking, to start with the weather was pants Middle of June and some of the worst winds the broads had seen not to mention the rain that came through every window in the boat. Three days in hadn't done any real fishing and me and my dad where waiting to be picked up by Charlie Bettle for an hr Guided fishing session, the weather was the best day we had had but not really piking weather, 8HRS later we had learnt a lot but no fish in the boat so that was a little upsetting,

the next day weather was really bad and we had to tie the boat up at the Norwich end of the Braden way (i think ) me and my dad had a few pints in the pub next to the boat, i beat him 12 straight games of pool , was a good night, returning to the boat very windy and my father in law to be asked me to check the ropes as we where moored in a tidal section and the wind was rough as, i humored him and checked the ropes (i knew they where fine) as i stepped of the boat the boat was lift 3 ft by the a huge wave, i consciously stepped over the slippy wood bit of the key and as i put my foot down the boat went up and i was flung to the floor falling onto the concrete key legs down the side of the boat, luckily my pops and pops in-law pulled me out before the boat crushed my legs, but i had managed to fracture my elbow and my wrist,

that was the end of my fishing in the broads spent the rest of the week in agony watching my dad, loads of fun, on the drive home 20 miles into the 350 mile Journey home my mums car decided it had had enough of living and blew up, after waiting 3hrs we had a long tow truck drive home.

that was a funny holiday to look back at but not much fun at the time.

Please post your worst fishing trips.

Couldn't possibly compete with anything that bad, but when I was 14, I had a holiday fishing on the River Isle near Curry Rivel in Somerset.
I wanted to go for a pee, there was no cover, and I could see a girl herding cattle in the next field.
So I clambered down one of the high banks on a bend in the river, and immediately went waist deep in mud. It had looked as solid as the rest of the bank! It took me a long time to drag myself out and I spent the rest of the (fishless) day in extremely wet and smelly trousers.
No bones broken, though.
The journey down from London had been interesting - 5 of us on a motorbike and sidecar combination with suitcases strapped to the top of the sidecar...
