off on my hols in five weeks, I have no travel rod.

Has anyone used on of these?, look very nice, and only 310mm when collapsed....

Where are you going? it looks a bit too light for all applications other than ultralight spinning.
I wouldnt want to tackle Ebro carp on it for example.

It could be too short, I had problems hitting the mini sea species with a 9 foot telescopic, I now use the Fladden six piece 13 foot match rod for this sort of stuff, Elton does them.
Shakespeare do a similar multi piece match rod for a price not much more than the Shimano, £32 from Nimpopo, it's a bit bigger at 84 cms but still gets into a suitcase.
Remember you can not take rods on board planes as cabin luggage anymore.

when I went last time, the greek lads were bagging up, god knows what they were, but they were catching them on little home made jobs, about 5' long.... I think it'll do the job, reckon I'll be able to cast from the bar
