I know that many of us automatically replace the treble hooks that come with lures. We want sharper or smaller or larger or something.

In that case, my I suggest that especially with the front set and especally with surface or shallow lures, red has a lot to recommend it. Think of the color of the gills that a fish sees with a stressed bait fish.

I routinely use one of these trebles as a replcement for the front set. I've also started using some of the singles for other fishing.

For those who usually fish bait for pike and perch, you might also be interested in the results if you traded the trebles you use now for a circle hook.

I looked on their website but no mention of dealers outside of USA and Canada.

Looking back through my records, I think they're quite a bit larger - 1's and 2's

Will double check tomorrow.

Given the cheap prices, low shipping weight, and all of that, if you can't find something to suit from UK sources, it shouldn't be that expensive to order hooks from the US.

Treble hook sizes are strange too where a #4 from one maker might be the same size as a #6 or even #8 from another. You almost have to handle the ones you are considering to figure out what size you want.

Same over here, Newt.

Many carpers would freak if I told them about the size 2's I favour, but I reckon they look like a 6!
