Hi everyone.... I have saved up enough money to buy an Octoplus Ground Bait Stand. I was just wondering if anyone had one and if they are any good!

Tight Lines Dooby Dooby, can you clarify " Groundbait Stand" do you mean the side-trays?.If so they work very well ,the deeper tray will carry a fair amount.I mix up in a bait bucket and transfer to the tray. That way you replenish as you go from the bucket. rondo ------------------ |

I have once been told by a passer-by that i look more like im going on holiday than for a days fishing...flattered was not the word! However, this started me thinking how much gear i actually needed to take fishing. I understand that to fish comfortably i need certain items, and a groundbait stand was one of them. But rather than spend alot of money ( you mention 'saving up' ) i decided to scale down. I know what you mean when you talk about a groundbait stand and this is how i have managed to do it. I use a bait waiter made by drennan and a bankstick. All you need do is put your mixing bowl on top of the baitwater and you have a cheap groundbait stand @ a cost of £7. Try it, don't waste your money on items you don't need.

Have you thought about cutting down a bankstick then using a bait waiter screwed to it, put the other end through an octoplus
keep net holder, much cheaper than £47 and it's fixed to your octo system Cheers |

Make sure you check the deeper tray, this is the one I use.Very rigid and fixed on the leg its right under your hand. rondo |

Tight Lines Dooby dooby, if cash is tight why not go for a original mixing bowl? collapsable and so light you dont know you are carrying it. All major companies make them, and they are cheap.. rondo ------------------ |
