Couldn't figure out if this one belonged on the coarse section because it is carp related or on the fly section because it is fly related. Ah well, here it goes.

Take a look at http://flyfishing.about.com/ and check the Fly Archive for a recent addition - the "corn" fly. John Gildersleeve invented this one and posted a note about it to a US carping list. Says he plans to post about 1 carp fly a month to the site to try and spark some interest.

Also do a search for "leech" and take a look at another pattern of his that will catch carp and other species.

Great site even if you aren't primarily a fly angler. And several of the fly patterns mentioned there look like they would also do well from spinning tackle if you used a controller to add some weight.
