Just been asked to suggest a knot/rig book for a novice carp angler. Any suggestions?

The thing is I think all Carp books assume a higher degree of knowlege than a novice would posses. I may be talking through my vent but in my experience most carp angler learn from others on the bank. the simplest method would be freelining, just line to hook, bait on, balearm off and keep watching. when line starts peeling off reel then strike, of course if they have a baitrunner this would be more straightforward. ANother would be a ledger bomb 8-12 inches from hook secured with a small shot, this will stop your bait going all over the place on running water.

HOpe this helps, hopefully someone with more experience will be inspired to help too.
