This year's National Fishing Week begins next Saturday (21st August) and last until Monday 30th August. Yes, I know that's 10 days!

For details of events, visit:

www.nationalfishingweek.co.uk

(Elton: hope this doesn't breach the posting rules. NFW is non-commercial and seeks merely to celebrate the sport of angling and encourage more people to try it).

Bruno - Advice please, I am taking a neighbours 10yr old to a local pond as he has never fished before. The pond is well stocked so he should catch. I am using my equipment and tackle.
Advice please, and does he need a licence and do I need to pay for him?

i think if he is "going" to be 12 within the years licence period then i "think" he has to have one when he`s 11

everything can be fixed with WD40 and duck tape.
If it moves and it shouldnt --duck tape
If it doesnt and it should-- WD40

The lad doesn't need a licence until he is 12 years of age. Even if he had been older, there would be no requirement for a rod licence if he was taking part in a registered NFW event.

He will need permission to fish the pond, just like you do, and this may (or may not) involve payment of a daily fee to the owner or controlling club.

Have a great day out!
