(actually a pack bait but should do fine in a feeder)
Old North Carolina Black Pack mix -- from the early 60's. (Maybe a bit like South Carolina black Bait - or maybe not) 3 cups soybean Mill 2 cups Wheat Bran 1 cup Blackstrap Molasses (1 cup -- more or less) Corn Liquor -- to taste Mix bean mill, Bran, and blackstrap together -- let sit for at least 24 hours. If you're a Baptist --- don't use the corn liquor. If you're a Methodist -- add small amounts of the corn licker (oops - liquor) just before casting -- or use as a dip. Methodists can use the corn liquor Monday thru Saturday -- but never on Sunday. If you are a backsliding heathen -- then just drink the liquor and don't waste it on the fish. (That's the way it was told to a friend many years ago. --- no chit [ 04. What's this then? No UK fish that like their booze?
Note to river anglers - this stuff will hold on a method cage even in pretty good current. It is designed to hold during a cast even when just hand packed around a hookbait with no feeder so you know it will hold up for a bit if given the support of a feeder. [ 04. CSl - corn steeped liquor, which i'm guessing is similar if not the same, is quite a common additive over here

Nope jeepster - not the same.
Corn Liquor is the way us country folk refer to any alcoholic beverage made from distilling fermented corn so bourbon and most 'moonshine' fall into that category. CSL is good stuff for bait though, isn't it. -------------------- "Democracy dies when the people wanting their government to take care of them outnumber those wanting to take care of themselves." - Author Unknown - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For a selection of lures, reels and other items, visit my eBay shop http://stores.ebay.com/JaNewt-eMart |
