Ladies, and Gentlemen - I'm off down South next week with the family for a few days. I have been given permission to go fishing for a couple of days when we are in Windsor - they're off to Legoland...

Can anyone provide me details with any day-ticket fisheries down there?...lake or River?

Thanks in advance - Andy smile.gif

Thames in Windsor does have a couple of day ticket stretches if I remember correctly. Turn up and fish, and pay for your ticket when the bloke comes around.

Lakes - Royal Berkshire Fisheries, in Winkfield, three lakes, apparently very nice, haven't fished it myself but have heard good reports on both the carp and silver fish fronts.

Hope this helps,
Paul

Thorpe Park and Twynersh Fishery aren't far from Windsor but there's plenty of free fishing along the Thames. There's probably a tackle shop in Windsor but the nearest one that I know of is Davies Angling in Staines. They could probably give you plenty of advice.

The Royal Berks at Winkfield, there are meant to be some double figure carp in there according to a mate.

Fred Guttfield told me about a stretch belonging to Old Windsor AC. Approx £3 per day, pay on the bank. I've had a look, but not fished it yet. Apparently you get good bream, and the Thames bream round there are apparently 6-7lb!

You can park in Windsor railway station car park (though this will cost at least £3) Walk to the far end of the car park, and keep on walking with the river on your left. Cross the river when you can (I seem to remember you also cross a kind of canal cut also) and start walking upstream with the river on your left. That's where you fish.

I looked at it a year ago, so apologies if my memory isn't perfect. I'm sure Fred will correct me if he logs on. Also you could phone Windsor Angling Centre, 153 St Leonards Road, phone 01753 867210. (Correct as of last year.)

Let us know how you get on. Might get me up there if you get among the bream!

Awaaar,

As John said the Old Windsor stretch is probably worth a look, depending on what you're after! Bream a plenty! Just look up Windsor railway station on Multimap, park there and follow John's directions. £4 a day this season. PM me if you need any more info. Might even join you depending on which day it is this week.

Enjoy, and let us know where you decide to go and how you get on!
