i was fliking through some sites today, for some lures, and came across a jap site, and as i was scrolling down the page, saw some of there fishing mags, one thing that grabed me was the way they have there covers, they all have young very trendy girls on the cover as if they where selling nintendo`s not tackle, it looks much better than the boring old farts we have to put up with of the front of our covers, anyway here is the link to the site, what do you think, http://www.d3.dion.ne.jp/~kushima/shopping...g/shopping.html

Looks good.
Wonder where they get the space to fish tho' If its onland the yearly passes probably cost thousands. Must be boat fishing? A nice little earner anyways! Liam |

I saw a prog on the telly a few years ago about coarse fishing in Japan.... Apparently there are indoor venues with tiered (sp) seating all around what can only be described as a swimming pool full of fish... the people sitting on the lower benches (nearer the water) use very short rods... the rods they use are longer the further from the water you are......
Don't sound much like fishing though does it? I'm sure they must have some proper fishing though Liam but as you say it's prob very pricey.. Simon |

Hi Gray,
A few years back we used to have a magazine aimed at Carp Anglers.... can't remember the name of it though that had a centrefold can you believe? of a scantily clad women wearing fishing type gear (waders and the like...... steady!!!!) With captions like "Belinda gives a Boily Job" (or did I just dream that?) Didn't last very long from what I remember... Simon |

Pred fishing in Japan is mostly largemouth bass and yes, from boats.
Unbelievable pressure too. They make probably the finest finesse rods/reels/lures to be found anywhere. Prices there are about 4 times the prices for similar gear in the US and lord only knows what they charge if they export the stuff. For any serious lure guys on here, drop shotting was perfected there. I won't say invented because who knows but they are for sure the world experts on the technique these days. |
