Has anybody had their cars converted to run on LPG or petrol. I was thinking of getting it done and just wandered if anybody had any experiences with it.Any info would be appreciated such as who can do repairs where does the extra tank go etc etc
My car has fuel injetion, i belive that there is a power loss of between 10-30% is this true

As for power, I am not a fast driver, the legal speed limit is normally good enough for me and the gas provided power enough with some to spare.
The problem over here is that once you convert to gas, they whack a hefty tax on you so you have to do the KMtrs to justify the conversion.
Well worth looking into IMO

Glad I check my spelling etc, made some silly mistakes just now.

Paul all I can tell you that a lot of the police patrol cars here have been converted to run on LPG and petrol. Talking to them they reckon there is no difference in performance, can`t even feel it when they switch from one to another. As Alan said the second tank goes in the boot so you do lose that space. Hope this helps a little.

A few years back I had a Range Rover fitted for LPG and I never really noticed any drop in performance, but I saved a packet on fuel.

A few weeks ago our localradio station did a article on how to convert your car to gas. I seem to remember it was about £1400 to do so BUT you can get a government grant to help you towards the cost and think of the money you will save in fuel. It was mentioned that performance was not atffected
