Anyone see the photograph in Angling times? That's not a fish! I don't know about you people, but I like my fish to be good-looking and basically fish-shaped... I hope I never have the misfortune to hook one of those ugly beggars!

Pangolin, I find it's nicer for women to be good-looking. But not always (smiley thing substitute here)

C'mon, you must be impressed by that cat? Wish they had 'em like that in the Nene.

I'm off to the Ebro on Sunday for a week's cattin'n'carpin' - and a dozen of that cat's stamp would do nicely!

Actually, one half the size of that'n will show me how well my busted arms have healed.

Can't wait. biggrin.gif

Terry

P.S. Obviously, I'll be coming STRAIGHT home if my bivvy telly doesn't work properly out there. rolleyes.gif

Enjoy your trip Terry. You will be able to get CNN and German TV if you have satelite. Otherwise it'll be Corrie and Prisoner Cell Block H with Spanish dubbing.

Pangolin, are the catfish indigenous or were they introduced to the Ebro? If they are indigs, I dont have a prob with them eating other fish stocks. If they were illegally stocked, thats a different matter altogether.

Nik,they were stocked in the mid 70's by a German angler, only about 30 in total if my memory serves me right.I have never heard of any permission having been sought although in Europe it doesnt seem to be taken so serious. If you ever get down to the Ebro you will soon see that they havnt made a noticable difference to the other fish stocks.
There is no other species of fish alive that the AT is so badly informed on they havnt got a clue.
