Here's 1 for all you lure lovers ...I recently discovered this lure in a box of lures that i bought in an auction several years ago. Its an ABU Högbom spinn , 2.5" in BGL colour. It is beautifully finished and its shaped like a jig or mini pirk with a tail going up at approx 45 deg. A wire goes thru the body with an attachment loop at the front and a treble and 2 beads at the other end. Going by the box its quite old , I'd say 60s or 50s. On the box is " Enjoy finer fishing" on 1 side and "De tyngsta och längsta" on the other. The lure is approx 15 - 20 grams and 10 cm long. Anyone know much about it , its age and its value , if any ? I also have a Toby which seems to be of a similar age , 18 gram and blue gill with its box and the same blurb on it. Maybe there's a website dedicated to old lures ? Many thanks, Keith.

Loads of old lure sites on the web in the USA. Check out ebay and you'll find them. Trouble is they specialise mainly in small lures for large mouth bass.
Incidentally, if you do have an old lure you think might be valuable, make sure you keep the original packaging. It's worth a lot more that way. But personally I reckon they're more valuable when they're covered in big, toothy scars!! -------------------- Fenboy

Kreid, The lure is featured in the 1969 Tight lines catalougue.
![]() The blurb that goes with it states, NEW for 69 HoGBOM SPINNER An outstanding lure of the Devon minnow type so designed as to obviate line kink. Outstandingly successful with both salmon and sea trout. Available in sizes: 3/4oz. 2 1/2in. -------------------- Regards Tony.

Kreid, I would think from the lack of response from the board and the lack of information on the Internet regarding your lure, it may be a rare lure you have and possibly worth something?.
To find a bit more out about it go to Harris angling website they have a dedicated lure forum, they may be able to advise as to value http://www.harrisangling.co.uk/forum/index.php -------------------- Regards Tony.
