Hi all,
on the way back from the boat on friday, I saw a line of people fishing, about 25 yards,
we did'nt have time to stop so I went back on Sunday.
The place they were fishing is part of the flood control system. There is a Dyke between the sea and a very big lake. When the tide is coming in the sea "races"
through and under the Dyke. Where the sea comes through to the land ward side of the Dyke it is realy fast running water.

The birds were diving after the white bait, the Herrings were hunting the white bait and the anglers were feathering for the Herring.

There was a Sea Lion having a great feast and entertaining the on lookers.

If I should not say the following, the moderators should not hesitate in taking it out.

There were 5 or 6 Turks using big tripple hooks very effectively and foul hooking Mullet. We did not stay long for my own safety.

This event with the herring happens between May and September.

I will be having a go for the Herring and think that there must be Bass there as there is so much food.

I took some pictures and will post them at a later date if there is an interest here.

Three weeks and it is Gurnsey time for us.
Tight lines
