My AVG just stopped working. First the email scanner went down then the whole thing. When it went for its daily scan at 3pm it came up with a message about the kernal not working. When I went to click the desk top icon I got no response whatsoever.
I deleted the whole lot and reinstalled which seems to have done the trick, but why did it crash?? |

r u running free vers 7 or the full rumours are full version unstable but i've had both 6+7 free with no probs last 3 years also what else u running alongside

I swapped to the FULL version around 3 months ago and have had it crash twice on me now!! But as you say I had free for around 4 years and NO problems!!

Do you have XP2 installed ?
My AVG was fine until I installed XP2 .. then it kept crashing. XP2 firewall perhaps? I switched of XP2 firewall and reinstalled AVG .. and it's been fine ever since ... -------------------- The Older I get .. The better I was.

installed sp2 recently but had no problems immediately so see no link. I have been having pc probs of late though. Machine hanging,failure to boot occasionally, slow graphics occasionally.
