After fighting tooth & nail to keep the cottage open to the public it has now been announced that the council will be cutting its opening times to just 36 days per year

The council have worked out this will save them £17,000.

They have also cut back the months it will be open, instead of opening april to october it will only open may to august.

When the plans to close this place were first mentioned i mailed everyone i could think of to help, including the Izaak Walton league of america, it turns out they already knew & were so incensed by the plan to close it they sent a delegation over (although that was non of my doing LOL).

I was going to name the councillors who want it closed altogether but i don't think i will (lets just say the same councillors have also been in the papers voicing their opinions on the banning of barbaric bloodsports )

It is suggested that the new opening times be observed very closley & if they should prove to be a "waste of time" as well then the place should once again be discussed for closure
