hi ppl went fishing in me yak today at said place
basicly followed the m20 to folkstone then followed signs for hythe i think the a256 but not sure now lol any way found a small free carpark next to a petrol station it also had a snack wagon there and a ramp for access to beach was an excellent looking place for yakkers
lots of fisherppl on the beach all the way down both directions

used fresh mackerel i cought today and squid and prawns as bait i paddled out twice the distance than the buoys you can see there after catching 6 mackerel close to shore the fishfinder was acting up and when i looked in me hold i saw that it had come loose so i placed the transponder over a scupper hole was a lil in acurate but it gave the right depth and did show up the macky shoals any way fish ed in 42 foot of water and had not a single bite that was mackerel i also had to jump over my parents wall to get access to my prowler13 i landed funny and something gave in me foot its evening now and it still hurts as mutch as it did this morning not in the ankle either so i guessing i did something bad to it ill let ya know what it was biggrin.gif weather was fine i even bumped into a female yakker out there called sarah who also just got a prowler 13 doesnt fish though if i didnt have a 5 week old baby and a loverly ozzy girlfriend i would of asked her for her number as we was speaking for about 15 mins about everything lol guess ya could say i caught something biggrin.gif but had to return her sad.gif all credit goes to my man from delmonty panama style hat i use to keep the sun off[ as it covers my balding head biggrin.gif ]

Hi EC.

How far/ how long are you prepared to travel to get to your fishing marks? Poole Bay is under a 2 hour drive once you are off the M25 and onto the M3. Lots of species are being caught out there at the moment. Could be worth considering if the fishings a bit slow up there at the moment. I'm hoping to get out there myself soon.

one other thing is it a good idea to try locate wrecks etc do you have to fish of a wreck to even get a good days fishing??

HF _ I don't think you will be that far from Wells-next-the-sea, or take a trip to Cromer. Good fishing on the banks off these places I am told - even bass. Flatfish, whiting, rays are going to be the normal catches. I have no idea of the tides there, but you launch off the beach so there will be water. ASK LOCALS BEFORE GOING OUT - keep out of the strong tidal areas if there are any.
Have you got a road atlas? If not, go and get one off the market - you can get all sorts of ideas for fishing trips from them - coastal villages where the area looks good. From London you have the Kent coast not too far away, Ramsgate, Margate and Herne Bay. Then the other way you have the Esex rivers, Brightlingsea is a good area with lovely shingle beds. In East Sussex, Eastbourne to Dover coast has plenty of places. You'll have to decide which is in striking distance for you.
Be Lucky....
