I've finally added Alan's skate article here.

Apologies if I've made any mistakes, Alan - it's been one of those days sad.gif

Tight lines,

Elton

Davey B,
glad you enjoyed it, it was hard getting started but then it just rolled off. I got a bit excited at times and slipped in the word Vleet which is the Dutch name for Common Skate. I included the Latin names of fish because I know that some people (German, Dutch and Belgiums) that I have looked after on various charter trips were waiting for the story to come out.

Good luck on your next trip.

Alan

Thats has got to be the most you've ever written in one go

excellent looking fish mate & yes we are bloody jelous (even though Dian said "i'd give you(me) the rod if i had that on the end").

The bit on Skate tagging was an eye opener as well its good to know things like that are in operation.

Well done to you both for such an excellent bit of writing & for helping the tagging program.

Alan T.
How come your article is so much more vivid than the ones in the angling press? Maybe the angling correspondants are just looking for free trips?

When you have Davy watching over and teaching you it is no problem, much

There is a lot more on the program on Davys site smile.gif

Spasor, it has to come from the heart and not the wallet.

Norrie, without your topic...........

I am glad that at least 3 of you read it and enjoyed it, that means a lot to me, THANKS.

Alan, nothing short of what I would expect from yourself. I have never met you (YET!) yet feel as if i've known you most of my life. A very rare thing in my experience. But then again (Sorry to burst the bubble!) With very, very, few exceptions the people I have met/bandied words with are without doubt some of the nicest I have met and as the saying goes (Eh? Elton, You know who you are!!)
Thank you!

Chris

well done Alan great article, only once did I go fishing for skate, I spent 45 rod bending, back breaking, sweat pumping, blood draining minutes only for the line to eventually give up and break. I often talk about that afternoon but never took the opportunity to go back and have another go. I might..... just might have a rethink ...... biggrin.gif

Chris, thanks for the kind words (I think), Davy gave me one of the hooks that I caught fish on, I still get goose pimples when I look at it.
