 Some blanks are in short supply, it pays to check on availability when ordering as the builder is unlikely to volunteer the information in case you go elsewhere. There should be no problem getting your money back as he obviously hasn't paid out anything so you can try elsewhere.

I would respectfully suggest you are being given the run around.
Hopefully you won't have too much trouble getting your money back, when you cancel the order.
It all sounds a bit dodgy to me.

 Quite right, no need to name the guy if he's straight. Some blanks are genuinely hard to get hold of, although the supplier promises to deliver by a certain date, they are very unreliable due to a variety of reasons, ill health, staff shortages etc. It's usuallay a family business and all the blanks are hand made, not mass produced, so if an important link in the chain is off, all production stops. It's a real bummer for the rod builder as he can't complete his orders. tongue.gif

Sounds like crap service to me - or what we take as standard in the UK

Why can't the rod builder in question just get in contact and explain what the situation is?. If it's a supplier fault then you should be told especially if the order has been changed once already.
