scoobs, fished there years ago. One thing I do remember was fishing with white feathers on the drift for the cod but there had to be mussells on the hooks as well to catch anything.
Did try without them and caught zilch, as soon as they went on the hooks we were into the cod.
Sounds odd I know but it worked.

The Skipper of the boat you are going on is the best source of information.
He will know what species to expect and when.
Will also be able to advise on tackle and bait, probably can supply both for a price.

if i was you i would go out of bridlington with Ocean Crusader ( Mic Brown ) one of the best Skippers on the north east he will take you to the fish ( if there is any fish in the sea )If you go with him Ask if you can try a reef Called 7/11 if you can get there your arms Will drop off

Good look
Darth

PS. if you go in the summer with him Count me in i can fill his boat in 5 mins.

Scoobs If you are up for a trip I can let you know when I go out next If you wish?? I regularly get offered trips to fill up boats and a friend of a friends brother actually skippers a boat out of Whitby. So If you do find your boat I can try and get you some feedback.
As for best time?? If you can feel your fingers after 10 minutes IT'S TOO DAMN WARM FOR FISHING!! Hope this helps?
