after my son beating my PB the other week it didn't take long for me to regain my mantle with a beautiful mama of 204lb

you might notice she is a bit pink at the edges indicating she is stressed, well no wonder, she had been caught on ronnie campbells boat a couple of hours previously

we also had other fish, another of 152lb for me and a 149lb for tony

you can really see the difference in size between the fish

cheeky get holty.....

i washed the outside and picked up all the rubbish from the inside.

aye looking forward to sitting in a nice warm pub while stevie and shaun are freezing their nuts off on the pier

ps, got the ear plugs in for my snoring??

peter,

it was a bumpy morning alright, i think ronnie thought i was a bit daft when i toddled out for a blether but i know my limitation for the boat, and that morning i would have fish on the drift for cod on the east coast, just a tad too rough for anchoring, plus you don't know if its going to get worse

the fish came on a newish rod and reel, first skate i had caught on it, only other fish it had caught were 24lb skate and a 12lb amberjack

how many fish did donald have that day??

We just had 3 for 6 anglers and one lost. I think Ronnie also had 3. Not one of our better days, one day we had 14 (one guy got 6)!!
Donald was brilliant as always and stayed out till 6.30 pm because of the late start. We hooked 3 in the last hour but couldnt stay out any longer unfortunately. Back again in May and it cant come soon enough.

peter, it was a good result on a day like that.

ronnie had 3 fish, i knew one of the guys fishing with him, i fished alongside him at a match in anglesey last year and he spent the day picking my brains about skate fishing, i had recommended ronnie to him and they had 10 fish in 3 days, with the 204lb female and another good fish was a male of 134lb.

got ratted in o'donnells irish bar on saturday night with one of the boys from ronnies boat, the other 5 went to their beds, brilliant night, plenty guinness, loads of people watching and a great laugh

les
