As some of you may know for several years now Ive been involved in giving "Pike teach ins" for several clubs and organisations. These concentrate on correct handling and unhooking techniques but also cover my main methods of pike fishing.I cover most things from tackle to location with a bit of DIY trace making as well.During a "normal" teach in we split the day between "class room" stuff and actual practical handling on the bank.I always bring a dead pike along to use for demonstration purposes just in casae the fishing doesnt produce!

Ive run a couple in the past for various internet sites AN being one of them. These often (due to the nature of such sites ie the members being well spread geographicly) have taken the form of a two day event. With overnight accomodation made available it makes it more practical for people travelling. On these "week ends" the second day is either spent fishing or going into more specialised areas such as lure or boat fishing.Makes it more worthwhile for people to attend of all experiences.

In the past for AN and Fishing Magic teach ins I have been able to use Les Webbers terrific Angling Projects centre at Wraysbury.A great venue as it gives use of both the clubhouse for instruction ,cooking and accomodation as well as the lake being just outside the door! I will have to speak to Les first to confirm the availability.

So what does all this cost ? Well nothing actually! all I ask is if we use Les's place people make a contribution to his excellent work of what ever they can manage.I can also bring trout for bait but expect people to pay for these at cost.

This is just an out line and if your interested please let me know and If enough are interested I will start making some firm dates and plans.

I'd be very interested in that Budgie. I've never fished for Pike because I don't have the correct gear and I wouldn't know what to do if I caught one.

Buying the gear's not a problem and I can read up on how to handle them but I'd be a more comfortable with somebody showing me.

The recent posts on this forum have stopped one person at least from popping a spinner on the float gear for the last 1/2 hour of the day "just in case" oops.gif

Would be interested depending on location and date...I'm always nervous when Pike fishing so I've just stopped altogether now before someone (or somefish) got hurt. Still managed a 20 though biggrin.gif
