hi i bought a level wind fishing reel about 4 weeks ago and today when i used it i noticed the level wind was sticking to the left side of the spool there was a groove worn into the worm bar on that side but i am unsure if thats the problem or if it was caused by the problem has anyone else had the same trouble if so what needs doing besides throwing it in the sea as i already thought of that one this morning

Always make sure that there`s grease on the worm drive of a level wind? Go, on. Tell me it was a Penn reel.

crab master?
Penn reels start at £20! They`re just not badged as being Penn reels!
Same goes with Daiwa!

is it possable for a reel to be fixed no matter what is wrong with it ie: does it ever have to be chucked out as i really dont feel like buying a new reel for the sake of something that looks as cheap and crappy as a level wind system

crab.
The more functions you have on a reel. The more things can go wrong!
