with the current influx of newbies going straight to sellers corner and the associated comments from regulars
would it not be feasible to restrict posting in this section till you have ammassed say 20 posts, like you have to to gain pm/email usage on the board

just a suggestion tell me to STFU if you dont agree

It will hopefully get more comments here from folks who don't visit the 'for sale' section very often.

I will tell you that a good many of the offering posts by new posters never make it to the forum. We look them over and delete the offer and on occasion, the account of the person making it. Only the ones that look as if they might be of interest to our members ever see the light of day and some of them are edited to remove spammish links before being approved.

I have to confess that I do approve an occasional one just so we can make fun of it but then I have been accused (rightly) of having a slightly warped sense of humor.

I often have a peek in the for sale section and am regularly amazed at the more 'territorial' members having a pop at newbies.

Some of the comments made to new posters are just plain bloody rude and as misinformed as usual.

Funnily enough many of the comments are made by members who enthusiastically buy any old crap.

Seems the latest target is some chap selling his Zodiac dinghy, a very clean example by the looks of it and ideally suited to safe inshore fishing.
