http://www.worldcarpchampionship.com/ June 5th to June 10th

England will be the best represented with up to 45 of the 200 allowed teams.

Fishing will be along a very fishy section of the St. Lawrence River on the US side.

I know who the US teams will be. Anybody know about the ones from over your way?

Peter - no way am I in the class to fish that event.

Even if I were, no way am I in shape to fish a 6 day x 24 hour match. That's for the young guys and I'm willing to bet that quite a few of them are in pretty bad shape by about day 4-5.

For the prize fund on offer, I'd hope so!

Alan - the chances of the current New York record being broken during the WCC are at least fairly good and that $1mil bonus prize is certainly a nice thought for someone.

Even if no one wins that, $50K plus a couple of pickup trucks (so another $50K basically) is certainly worth some effort.

Awwwww shucks Newt, it may be for six full days and nights but, if its like carp fishing ala Wordbender style, it means eating, sleeping and watching TV for 143 hours, with one hour thrown in for actually catching a fish. You'll be in better shape at the end of it, after the rest, than you were at the beginning of it!

Not always like that Peter..just watched (last Sunday) the final hour of a BCC eliminator at MKF.

Winners were totally exhausted, mind you they did catch a heck of a lot of fish (up to 37lbs)

The losers were mostly in even worse shape!

Not for the faint hearted I can tell you.

Shhhhh, don't let on Den! Terry might just use that to bolster his case!! And Newt, who was being gently persuaded that it would be easy, is now having second thoughts.
