Just found this on the cleveland sea angler website.
Not sure if there is many NE anglers here but if there is you may want to fish.

Hi just to let some of u know about a worthwhile comp going on a couple of miles further north.
Very good cause, very good prizes and could be won by any of us (not millions entering and tons of prizes).
Anyway here are a few details as are now....

NORTH EAST OPEN SHORE COMPETITION, IN AID OF THE TSUNAMI DISASTER

Saturday 22nd Jan 2005
Fishing Times: - 6.00pm-10.00pm
Weigh in 10.00pm-11.00pm at
Whitley Bay Holiday Park (late Bar!!)

1st Prize GREYS NITRA & an ABU 7000 reel & an APPOLLO WATERPROOF JACKET (£500.00 Worth of prizes)
2nd Prize Shakespeare K2 Blue metal Team Extreme Rod & K2 Power play Reel & Seat Box Full of Tackle & Tiga Head Lamp & £50.00 of SEA BAIT Ragworms . (£400.00 Worth of prizes)
3rd Prize Penn Ruff stuff 14ft rod & 535 reel & line & seat box full of tackle
(£300.00 worth of prizes)

20th Place: - GREYS APPOLLO ROD & Fleece!
30th Place: - ABU 7000 C4 Leaver Drag Reel.

Plus two sealed weight prizes worth £100.00 each, and heaviest flatfish prize worth £100.00!There is also a raffle with Over a £1000.00 worth of fishing and non-fishing related prizes.
Tickets from all local tackle shops and venue.

3rd Prize A NOVA Headlight from Spelleo Technics, & a meal for two at Bruno’s Restaurant in Cullercoats

4th Prize 1 Years free subscription to Sea Angler Magazine, a charter trip for two on UPHPLDER out of Amble, & a boat rod and reel to use on your trip.
5th Prize£100.00 worth of fishing tackle and £50.00 worth of SEA BAIT Ragworms
