QUOTE Rooney: Welcome Rooney, you have come to the best possible place for free advice (and opinions )hi ive just started sea fishing and was wondering if anybody could give any advice/tips. Give us a clue - where do you fish? Beach, rocks, boat or pier? Have you done other types of fishing before? Do you want advice on tackle to buy or methods to use, or pointers to web sites that have useful info to browse? Have a look through the posts on this section - you can browse them or use the Search facility to look for specific topics. If you give us an idea of location you can probably team up with someone living locally for a chat or even a trip. -------------------- East Hampshire Boat Anglers www.boat-angling.co.uk

QUOTE mmc1uk: Ditto that and also try Glasgow Angling Centre (mail order as well) They also do "get you started" kits. Give them a call or visit a shop and you'll get good advice. If you go to a shop near where you fish, and buy stuff there it may be a tad more expensive than mail order but they'll be very happy to give free advice on good spots and sell you he best baits to use. Only don't go into a shop, get all the advice and buy your gear somewhere else - its worth cultivating a source of good local advice and the more regular you are as a customer the more help you'll get!

QUOTE Rooney: Welcome.hi ive just started sea fishing and was wondering if anybody could give any advice/tips. My advice, join a local club, fishing tackle is a bit like computers, we up date our equipment when we can and horde the old stuff. Could be that some club members have second hand tackle to sell. If you are a member of there club you should'nt get ripped off. There is also a for sale section on the forum, Ian Bass usually has some good gear for sale as do one or two others on here, you won't get ripped off from AN folk.
