Wakefield angling club have always encouraged juniors and have run such classes since the early 70's. They have turned out some very tidy anglers. Lads fishing under the Wakefield banner have won the Junior national, cadet national and the intermediate national. I don't quite know what happened last year, it may have been the chap that used to run the team was promoted at work and his new job meant him having to travel to Turkey at lot, then half the team took off and fished for a rival local club.
I feel this happens a lot round our neck of the woods. It's getting too much like football to me.
As soon as one club coaches them up to a decent level, they are head hunted by more glamorous teams and that's the last you see of them sad.gif .

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow - creature, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
